Barbara Kachingunda collaborates with colleagues at the Harry Butler Institute on statistical and methodological topics. Her work as a research officer includes auditing biosecurity research efforts, implementing statistically sound study design, and completing rigourous scientific statistical analysis. Barbara is a leader of the Statistical Society of Australia’s Western Australian branch and has a wealth of professional and academic experience in statistics and applied maths. She has previously served as director of government agencies and as a lecturer in several universities.
Barbara will soon earn her PhD in Biosecurity at the Harry Butler Institute at Murdoch University. Her thesis analyses the results of a comprehensive biosecurity monitoring program to identify patterns and opportunities to improve methods.
